Issue - on Youtube and Netflix
Country - Korea
Translation language - English
I’ve been experiencing an ongoing issue with LR on both Youtube and Netflix. It simply doesn’t work on either platform. The LR toggle doesn’t appear, even though I’ve already granted the extension the necessary permissions.
I’ve already tried several solutions, but nothing has worked.
I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the extension several times, and I also tried using different accounts for both LR and YT. What’s even more frustrating is that I just subscribed to LR, BUT I still can’t use it…
Does anyone know why this might be happening or what I can do to fix it??? is there anything else I can try for now?
This issue is really frustrating, especially since I’ve just paid for a subscription. I’d really appreciate any help ASAP
Hello @lxxjisu97, thanks for the details! Could you try the following and let us know the results?
Clear cache and cookies for Netflix/YouTube
Sometimes a stale cache prevents the extension from properly reading the page. Clear your browser cache/cookies, then reload the page.
Test in Incognito/Private mode
Open an Incognito window, make sure LR is enabled for Incognito use (chrome://extensions → LR → “Allow in Incognito”), and check if the toggle appears there. This helps rule out cache/cookie issues.
Disable other extensions temporarily
Other extensions (ad blockers, VPN extensions, privacy tools, other subtitle/translation tools) can conflict with LR and block it from injecting its toggle. Try disabling all other extensions one by one (or all at once) and reload the page.
Confirm your setup
Could you also share:
Browser name + version
OS (Windows/Mac/etc.)
Whether you’re using a VPN or proxy
This will help us pinpoint whether it’s a caching issue, an extension conflict. Thank you for your patience, we’ll get to the bottom of this as soon as we have more details!
Oh, option 3 worked for me! I had been using the Google Translate extension, so I removed it, and then LR finally started working. I think options 1 and 2 may also have helped, although they probably weren’t the main cause. Anyway, Thank you so much for your help!
