Pause video when mouse hovers over subtitle area (even mid-sentence)

Request

I would like to request a new feature: Pause the video immediately when the mouse cursor is hovering over the subtitle area
Desired behavior:

  • When the mouse enters the subtitle area → video pauses immediately.
  • When the mouse leaves the subtitle area → video can resume (or stay paused, depending on a setting).
  • Ideally as a toggle option in Settings (so users who don’t want it can keep current behavior).
This would be very helpful for intensive study, because it lets us stop and look up words the moment we need to, without waiting for the line to finish or manually pressing spacebar.

Thank you for considering this request!

Hi @Chanti, thank you for sharing your ideas with us!
A similar feature is already available: when you hover over the subtitles, the video pauses at the end of the current subtitles.
I’ll pass your idea on to the team so that the video pauses immediately when hovering over the subtitles. We might add a toggle switch for this feature.
Thank you!
