The German subtitles are displaying incorrectly. Essentially, the actors say one thing, but the subtitles show a similar sentence yet swap in the wrong word—for instance, using “toilet” instead of “wardrobe.” That’s just an example; in reality, the subtitles are incorrect roughly every other sentence, if not every single one. It has been malfunctioning like this for a long time now. Often, the entire sentence is written incorrectly. I’m going to cancel my subscription if this issue isn’t resolved within the next week, as it defeats the whole purpose of the extension, and this problem has been preventing me from learning German via Netflix for over a month.
German is spelled exactly as its spoken. Its a phonetic language, you do not need subtitles to learn deutsch.

I’m having exactly the same problem, but with Italian. The ASR Pro subtitles often don’t match what is actually being spoken — sometimes the meaning is similar, but the wording is completely different. In my case it happens very frequently, roughly every other line.
I reported the same issue a few days ago, and I also added my experience to an older bug report from another user who reported this problem more than a month ago. Unfortunately, there has been no response or update from Language Reactor so far.
In the meantime, I found a free Chrome extension called Capisco. It transcribes the actual audio in real time, and so far it has been much more accurate for me with Italian Netflix dubbing. There is no daily time limit, and it also works with YouTube. You may want to try it with German while we wait for Language Reactor to fix ASR Pro.
I’d be very interested to know if Capisco works as well for German as it does for Italian.

First of all, I need subtitles to import into Anki. Secondly, I need to watch the videos with German subtitles anyway; I think that’s better when starting to learn the language than watching without them.

Recently, our team has been focused on launching a new courses feature on the website, so fixes related to the extension have been delayed.
