I’m using the Japanese.
Rather than showing the Romanization/phonetic above the characters, how about an option to display it in the tooltip popup with the English? I find I keep looking at the phonetic, when I should be trying to read the characters. Then let me hover to get the reading.

Like you, I think it will be a good thing if they can add ipa phonetic in order to avoid to go every time on dictionnary to see the phonetic.
Hi, this already worked for some languages. Just added it for Japanese too. Romaji is now shown in the tooltip, whenever not in the subtitle already (if hidden through transliteration options).
