Issues with media player

I noticed some issues with the media player. Currently running Zorin os ans using brave browser.

  1. Sometimes when pressing S (replay the current subtitle) makes the audio stutter at the beginning of the subtitle segment. So for example when a character says “I don’t know”, pressing S makes it sound like “I don - I don’t know”. I haven’t found a way to replicate this. However exiting the video player and clicking on play again makes the issue go away.
  2. The amount of screen space the video takes in the media player is too small compared to the netflix one. And ruins the viewing experience to some extent. (looks smaller in person)
    For example:

  1. In netflix clicking the left and right arrow keys makes the video jump 10 seconds before or after. In the media player the arrow keys act just like A and D, in other words they only jump to the last subtitle or the next one (which can be several minutes away). So if I want to go back 10 seconds ago I have to manually move the seeker (the round thing in the progress bar)

Let me know if you need more details. Thanks

Hello @Kronks!
Thank you for your message!

  1. At the moment, we officially supports Google Chrome. Other browser, including Brave, may work, but certain features (like the media player and subtitle replay) can behave inconsistently.
If you have this in Google Chrome, let me know.
  2. We plan to add more space for screen. But this will take some time.
  3. This is how our keyboard shortcuts work on the website.
On Netflix and YouTube, you can select “Use arrow keys for subtitle navigation” in Settings, and the arrow keys will work the same as the A, S, and D keys.
We may consider implementing the same functionality as Netflix or YouTube on our website in the future.
Thank you for your suggestion! :slightly_smiling_face:
