Adding Pinyin to Chinese Simplified Subtitles

I don’t know how to do Add Pinyin to Chinese Simplified Subtitles

I am sure I checked on all the tabs of the documentation that can be found here : Language Reactor.

Thanks for your help :slight_smile:

@M_Soyege Hello!
In the settings section, there is Show transliterations drop-down lists
Set Show transliterations to ‘with original form’ and ‘always’

When using the extension:

  1. Open the movie/video you want
  2. Click the gear icon
  3. Set Show transliterations to ‘with original form’ and ‘always’

The first section settings are the same as mines but I dont have the same options on the second image. Is pinyin only for premium users? Is it only for Netflix subtitles or also youtube(where I am trying to turn on pinyin)?

@M_Soyege
The transliteration is on both YouTube and Netflix
It should work for all users - unlogged, pro-mode and basic.
But for it to be available, subtitles must be available in the video (screenshot below).

Transliteration is available for original subtitles, it is not available for translation language (as you have on your screenshot)

I dont understand, pinyin can only be added if the initial subtitles are in chinese? So english close captions/subtitles then adding chinese translation wont add the pinyin? Can you please guide me in turning on the pinyin?

@M_Soyege Transliteration is available only for the language selected in Subtitle language. Transliteration is not available for Translation subtitles.
In your screenshot you are trying to find transliteration in Translation language, which is not available
You can select transliteration only for Subtitles language (for subtitles that are displayed in the top row).
