Enhanced Context Analysis for Lexa AI

Hello Developers,

I’ve noticed that Lexa AI in Language Reactor currently analyzes only single sentences when explaining words, which can be limiting. This becomes particularly problematic with YouTube subtitles where sentences are often split or context spans multiple lines.

Consider this example:

  1. “Sodium intake should be monitored daily.”
  2. “SALT adds flavor to food.”
  3. “Ancient civilizations valued this mineral highly.”

Currently, when clicking on “SALT” in the second sentence, Lexa AI only analyzes that isolated sentence. However, the surrounding sentences provide crucial context that would enhance understanding.

Would it be possible to expand Lexa’s analysis to include at least the previous and next sentences? This small change would significantly improve comprehension, especially for language learners relying on contextual understanding.

Thank you for considering this request!

This is a feature I would appreciate!

Currently you can use special placeholders like in “Lexa AI Assistant Prompts”.

My suggestion would be to create an additional placeholder like <10_CONTEXT>, which would add the 10 previous sentences and the 10 upcoming sentences.

Creating an additional placeholder would not risk hurting the current functionality!

I completely agree; this feature would noticeably improve the accuracy of definitions.

I’ve recently started using the AI for quick monolingual lookups, and having more context would significantly improve the overall experience and reliability of the results.

For Netflix, it could also help to include the movie or series title as context, so the AI has a better understanding of what’s being discussed (especially for well-known shows).

Another limitation right now is that you can’t select multiple words for a single definition lookup. This becomes an issue with hyphenated words, phrasal verbs, idioms, etc.
