No subtitles with YouTube anymore

Unyil a few days ago, no matter which YouTube video I watched, the subtitles + translations were always there. Not anymore. Does anyone know why?

I have the same issue too

I have the same issue, Language Reactor disappears on any Youtube video :frowning:

Hello everyone!
If you say that everything was working fine until recently, and then suddenly the subtitles and translations stopped appearing, then this may be due to a local setting, as we cannot see the problem on our end.

Below, I have written what you can try to fix the problem:

  1. Make sure you see the icon in the YouTube video player and that it is enabled.
  2. Make sure the Language Reactor extension is enabled in your browser:
Click on the puzzle piece next to the URL field.
    Then click on Manage Extension.
Find Language Reactor in the list.
Make sure: the toggle is ON, the extension is not paused or disabled.
If you see a button like “Enable,” click it.
  3. Turn on YouTube subtitles manually using the CC button.
  4. Temporarily disable other extensions and try again (they may be blocking Language Reactor) or try opening the video in incognito mode (to do this, switch the “Allow in Incognito” switch to ON here chrome://extensions/?id=hoombieeljmmljlkjmnheibnpciblicm)
  5. Reinstall the extension.

If the problem persists, please let us know:
Browser name and version
Region you are located in

We’ll be happy to investigate further :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Angelina, thank you for the list of debugging process.
I can confim that in Incognito mode, it works fine.
On normal mode, I’ve just managed to get the extension to appear again on YouTube.
I suspect it’s due to one of an older extension which no longer supported which I had installed.
After removing some of them (my hunch is the below extension), then the LanguageReactor extension appears again.

Thank you!
