It would be very helpful to be able to hover over a word and save it via pressing a single key rather than having to right-click to save it.

Totally agree！
a single keyboard shortcut to save words while reading, with number keys 1–4 assigning different highlight colors (similar to LingQ), and separate keys for speeding up and slowing down playback.
