Has the app been abandoned by its devs or not? I wanna get the yearly subscription but im afraid the app wont continue receiving updates as there’s room for new or atleast polished features

The last comment in “# Feature TODO List and roadmap (continuously updated)” was over 3 years ago. So I guess it might be abandoned.

I guess it’s fair to say that it has not been completely abandoned, yet the support is very limited. You can see that some issues are eventually fixed, usually after a prolonged time. Other bugs are just going to stay, obviously. And I would not really expect new features, and not much communication from the devs either, besides the occasional Angelina appearing here.

Basically, if you are happy with the product as is, and would not mind too much if some bugs may take ages to get fixed or not at all, then go ahead and buy the yearly subscription. Otherwise, try to find an alternative that’s better for you. There is a problem that if you want features such as ASR (for me, the main reason to go Pro, even if half-broken at the moment and possibly forever), there is not much competition.

I’d pay for another year and hopefully, a new competitor could show up. Fluent AI is too complicated for me :confused:

Hey everyone here! We support the project and have not stopped it. We have plans to develop the project, but it is not happening as quickly as we would like because our team is quite small. :slightly_smiling_face:

I got the yearly - imho it is/was a great purchase. The app (plugin) generally works really well and is definitely worth the price. Using this with Anki has been great.

I really only have 2 complaints:

  • LR does not save the original audio from YouTube when you save a word or phrase; it only works on Netflix. This one was kind of a big deal to me but I still find this app better than the current alternatives (features + pricing)
  • The lack of communication from the dev team; it seems like you’ll never know what’s being worked on, fixed, planned, etc. You’ve probably felt the same as, from your query, you thought the app was abandoned.
