I am using YouTube from the US, in English and I frequently watch content in Russian. I notice a consistent issue where someone will say “this began in 2015” but the subtitles will say “this began in 1915”. I see it in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcewSvZrTag&t=50s - but actually this behavior occurs again and again in videos that mention dates in the current century. I don’t know if this is a YouTube issue or a LanguageReactor issue.
Helo @Peter3,
I think this is an issue with the subtitles provided by YouTube. I haven’t been able to reproduce this in other videos - date in the dialogue matched the subtitles
I also couldn’t find a date in the video you sent me. Please send me a link to the video where you see this issue so I can give you a definitive answer.
I’m embarassed that I cant find it. I will look further and send you an example. BTW - are you a developer on LanguageReactor?
thanks,
Peter
