I’m also experiencing this problem regularly. I have tried with different computers, web browsers and internet connections and still get this error.
There are many threads about it on the forum, and it’s been around for quite a while now.
It would be great to get some feedback from the developers. Is it something you’re working on, and do you have any idea when it might be fixed?

I have also been facing this for weeks now. Only happens on selecting ASR PRO GERMAN subtitles for me.

Guys, I found the solution!!! Is not a definitive one but it works, I tried it on YouTube you can try it on Netflix if you want. Basically, all you need to do is reload the page, reload it many times. At first, it seems like is useless, you´re going to see the same error again, but I swear after many times of attempting it is finally going to work again, at least 1 out of 10 page reloads it´s going to succeed. Btw, if it doesn´t work not even once, restart your computer and try again.

Pour info, j’ai utilisé un autre profil et ça a fonctionné. J’ai rebasculé sur mon profil habituel et cela a fonctionné 1 ou 2 épisodes aujourd’hui. Mais de nouveau “failed to retrieve linguistic data”. En utilisant un autre profil cela fonctionne encore, mais pas sur mon profil habituel.

Using a different profile still works, but not on my usual one.
