The extracted audio file from some videos which are relatively high such as >50MB often fail to upload for the ASRwhen click on Play.
I click on Play, the progress bar goes around halfway and then BAM it fails. I doubt it’s an internet issue on my end since it never happens when I upload small files.
It always gets stuck around 54%/55%.
The weird part is that it gets stuck at those percentages for a few seconds and doesn’t resume and when I click on play right after it goes back to restarting the upload process
I haven’t used the built-in asr ever since that happened. I’ve been using Whisper X (a fork of Whisper AI) on google colab to transcribe my audio files
In fact, a file size of about 50 MB shouldn’t cause the upload to fail on its own, since that’s not a “large” file for MediaFile.
I can’t reproduce this issue on my end with files that are 100 MB or larger. Most likely, the problem lies with the subtitles themselves.
Could you please let us know:
What is the video format (e.g., MP4, MKV)?
Approximately how long is the video?
If possible, could you provide us with the video (or a clip where this issue occurs) so we can investigate? Email: yana.baklan7@gmail.com
We’re not yet sure what exactly might be causing this. We look forward to your reply!
Thank you for the additional information.
I just uploaded a ~200MB audio file and it was successful without any issue. On the day in which the upload was failing I noticed that other members of the forum were also having issues with ASR, so I guess it had something to do with that
@Kronks, there may have been updates to the website at that time, which caused the error. If you continue to have this issue, please let us know. We aren’t seeing any problems right now.
