The transcript player stopped working for mp3 files. It does not even let them be uploaded. Works with mp4s though.

I can’t reproduce this issue; my file uploaded successfully and the Play button is available. When I click the Play button, the file plays.

I have the same problem
One thing worth checking is whether the MP3 itself has any encoding or metadata issues. I’ve run into cases where a file plays fine in one player but causes problems in another. Re-saving the file or testing it with a simple tool can help narrow it down.
You can also try checking the audio with MP3 Louder (mp3louder.org) just to verify the file isn’t corrupted or using unusual settings. If a freshly exported MP3 works, that usually points to the original file rather than the player.
