Really bad ASR subtitles.

Maybe I don’t understand what ASR subtitles are, but the last few shows I’ve watched on Netflix, the ASR subtitles have been bad.

I expect names to be messed up. I’m used to that. But lately, there have been words, phrases or complete sentences that mean the same, but are different from what was spoken. And there have been sentences that also mean something completely different.

Should this be happening with ASR subtitles? Am I expecting too much from ASR?

btw, I’m watching Australian shows with Portuguese Audio. Secret City & Pine Gap

That’s weird. Sometimes (very rarely) I get random stuff that look like this “<0.61>” in the asr subs. I don’t remember the exact number but it’s a decimal between triangle brackets. Idk if I can replicate it since it’s random

I’ve gotten that a few times too, but it didn’t really bother me. The words were still there.

Out of curiosity have you been getting the “Problem fetching asr subs make-ready” issue when turning ASR on lately?

Not in the last couple weeks, but I have gotten it before. It is quite frustrating when it happens.
