I’m trying to export my new word list from watching Youtube videos as an Anki file. This will allow me to use my Anki app to help me learn the new words. Unfortunately, I cannot get the Language Reactor extension to do this. I select export, and select Anki format. The LR saves a file to my desktop in zip format. When I unzip the file, there is no anki file (i.e., no file exists in the anki file format). There are just some mp3 files and text files. I expected a single Anki file. Also, I would like to export only the foreign word with the mp3 sound of the word on the front side of the card, and the dictionary definition on the other side of the card. Can anyone give me instructions on how to achieve this? I could not find any information on the Anki website, which btw, i find horrible and uninformative. I’m paying for the professional version at $40/year. It’s sad that I cannot do something as simple as this. Sad that paid members have no tech support, at all. Please help. Thanks in advance, Edward
@Edward After unzipped the file you should import items.csv file
I followed the instructions on the website, and it does not work. There are several problems:
(1) When I unzip the file, the result is two types of multimedia files. First, there are jpg photos of the youtube video at the point when I click on the word. I do not want these jpg files. Second, there are mp3 sound files of the entire sentence containing each word that I want to learn. I only want the mp3 sound of the new word, not the entire sentence. How do i fix this problem? I want the Russian word and mp3 file of only the word (not the sentence) on the front side of the card. On the back side of the card, I only want the machine translation in English of the word.
(2) I imported the CSV file. The deck contains only one word. But my word list contains over 700 words. I do note that when I import, the dialog box states that the list is separated by a space. When i click on this to change to comma separated list, it brings up a dialog box that states that the program will automatically detect. Obviously the program failed.
Another problem unrelated. I paid $40 about a week ago for the pro version. Now, I am getting pestering emails from LR demanding another $20, without any explanation. If I do not pay another $20, my service will be terminated. So, not only is there no customer service, but I’m getting threatened for more money. Sad.
Thanks, and I look forward to your reply,
Edward
