I have a vix subscription in youtube that lets me watch their videos like any other video. The link is (70) Un sueño - YouTube the show is Mirada. Language reactor starts to load the subtitles then stops and says loading subtitlles. I can use other extensions like Sabi of FluenAI to watch inside of youtube but i prefer language reactor. My native language is english and the language i am trying to learn is spanish. I am in the united states.
Hello @brian_warwick,
Thank you for your message.
Could you clarify a few details:
- When the subtitles are loading, what is displayed? Before they stop and say “loading subtitles”?
- Does this happen for all videos/channels or only for the ones you specified?
Thanks!
There is a bar where the subtitles usually display that says Loading subtitles but they never load. This only happens with content on Vix which is a paid subscription for spanish content under youtube.
The free channels like Dreaming spanish, spanish playground all work fine but content on premium that I pay for and can watch such as VIX and Paramount plus do not work. They get stuck with the message loading subtitles.
@brian_warwick, thank you for providing more details. ![]()
We’ll try to figure out what the problem might be and fix it
If you turn off LR for paid channels and enable YouTube subtitles (without LR), will the subtitles appear?
I showed the settings in the screenshot
yes, i see spanish subtitles when i turn off in VIX and english ones when i turn off in paramount plus. My main goal is to get Vix working other extensions work but are not as useful for language learning as language reactor
@brian_warwick, thank you for your response, it’s important to us. I’ll create a ticket for this issue so we can look into it and fix it if the issue is on our end.
@brian_warwick And please check if the subtitles work on the paid channel in Incognito mode without any extensions other than Language Reactor
If you need help with this, let me know ![]()
No they do not work in incognito mode. Note one of errors in developer mode is a CORS error.
Just following up to see if any progress has been made to address this issue
@brian_warwick Could you send me a screen recording showing the Console and the Network tab open? Here’s what you should do: 1) Open the video where the subtitles aren’t loading, 2) open DevTools > Console, 3) refresh the page, 4) open the Network tab in DevTools
My email - yana.baklan7@gmail.com. Thanks!
