Typically translated subtitles do appear line by line.

It happens automatically based on the subtitles provided by Netflix/YouTube (depending on the platform you are using).

This screenshot and your details sound like similar issues other users have experienced in the past:

• Youtube - all subtitles appear in one MASSIVE text - as opposed to appear throughout the video.

• Subtitle translation not appearing correctly on YouTube - #2 by joan_LanguageProcess

Have you tried other videos to see if this happens?

If you have any still experience the same thing, including links to the videos you experience this in — in addition to the language combinations that you’re using/studying with — in a bug report in the Bug category would help the LR developers figure out what is going on with that.
