We’ve been quietly working away this year and I wanted to give an update.
So… this year. Good stuff:
- Major improvements to our YouTube catalogue.
- Enhanced Aria chat with better models and text-to-speech.
- Upgraded translation quality.
- Improved Netflix auto-subtitling.
- New mobile playback controls, and generally better functionality on mobile.
- Introduced the Lexa AI feature.
- Tons of smaller issues fixed, and Angelina helped us document many more.
- Our backend is in better shape for better stability.
Soon to be released: a podcast player. Like, 1-3 days.
Bad stuff:
Language Reactor is not perfect. There is missing functionality and issues remain. Particularly, saved items / PhrasePump / Anki have are definitely overdue some attention. Arabic support is not great. The word frequency lists are not tuned well for Youtube videos. I would have liked to get some big headline features released this year.
