The media file player should automatically select the audio track which we are learning

Hello everyone.
When we insert a video file into the media player section, the website automatically selects the first audio track found in the video file, regardless if it matches the language we are learning or not.
I believe it would be a nice quality of life change if it automatically selected the audio track of the language which we are learning instead of defaulting to the first audio track which may not be the one we are learning.

For example, the picture below shows an imported video file. The website automatically select the first audio track, which in this case is Japanese.

The language being studied is Arabic, as denoted by the letter A in the idk what it’s called bar. Since when we first use the LR website we are prompted to input the language which we are learning, the website could make use of this information to automatically select the audio track which matches the language which we intend on studying.

Hello @Kronks, thanks for the suggestion and for explaining it so clearly!

The current behavior is intentional - Language Reactor always selects the first audio track because video files don’t always have reliable language labels. Sometimes tracks are missing metadata, mislabeled, or ordered in unexpected ways, so automatically picking a track based on the learning language could easily select the wrong one.
Also not everyone wants to study the audio track that matches their selected learning language. Some users may want to compare tracks or use content in a different way.
That said, your idea makes sense as an optional setting in the future, so thanks for sharing it. :dizzy:
