Hi
I am noticing an issue over the last 2 days when trying to watch videos with srt files in the ‘Media’ section of Language Reactor.
Usually I load in the mp4 file, then the srt file, and Language Reactor displays the English translation underneath the Thai from the srt file.
For the last couple of days I am seeing an error message along the lines of ‘Somethign went wrong, error loading translations’.
My Study language is Thai, translation language is English
In the Chrome console I can see error messages relatign to the translations.
api-cdn.dioco.io/base_media_videoFileTranslations:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()
main.c7d714a8.js:2 dioco-shared axios error: {“code”:“ERR_BAD_REQUEST”}
yf @ main.c7d714a8.js:2
Can you please advise
thanks

yesss , with me too… this is frustrating…
@motrcycleboy This error occurs if your Study language is the same as the Translation language. Please make sure that the Translation Language is selected different from the Study Language
Thanks for the suggestion. My Study language is Thai, translation language is English
On further investigation, I think the error might be caused by the Sonix srt file that I’m using with Language Reactor.
I’ve noticed that recently Sonix is not splitting the Thai transcriptions into small chunks anymore. The default srt export option from Sonix is usually 2 lines, 30 characters max per subtitle, and under 10 secs. This used to work fine, and looking at my old srt files that I exported from Sonix I can see the subtitles are 2 lines long, and under 10 secs in duration.
Just lately, even though I am exporting with these default options Sonix is producing a srt files with lines that are extremely long, way over 30 characters and up to a minute long.
I think this may be the cause of the recent error I’m seeing when loading srt files into Language Reactor. I’ve been in touch with Sonix to report this.
I think I’ve read elsewhere that if the lines in the subtitles are too long, this can cause this error.
