Just looked at two videos on Youtube in Japanese and both times the first sentence has the wrong kanji (Japanese character) and meaning.
From that, I am assuming this is a frequent issues in other languages as well so how does everyone deal with this? Just ignore? Can these translation issues somehow be flagged quickly?
Hello @Suribaci, please describe the problem with “wrong kanji” in more detail.
If you mean subtitles, sometimes YouTube videos have incorrect subtitles. Try turning off LR and watching only the YouTube subtitles. Perhaps they are the ones that are incorrect.
Thanks for your answer. I don’t think these are subtitles but included a screenshot for clarity. As you can see in the green circles, the kanji are different. One is: 魚や貝が and the other is 魚屋絵画. Both are written as “sakanayakaiga” but the meaning is completely different. What the woman is saying is obviously also 魚や貝が.
I’ve noticed the same error in other videos as well so it seems to be a common issue. I am wondering if there’s a way to fix/improve this or if I just need to live with it.
Checking the youtube substitles I notice they are also wrong.

Language Reactor does not generate subtitles for YouTube, but only provides translations (and practices with them such as dictionary, “mark as learning,” “mark as known”). We use the subtitles that are already available on YouTube:
Therefore, if the subtitles are incorrect (do not match the video), it means that the issue is already present in the original YouTube subtitles. Language Reactor only displays them and works with them.
